Not a typical staircase.... a paver staircase with long wide steps, delicate lighting, accompanying planting beds and a large landing at the base of the front door. This entrance is elegant and aesthetically pleasing to the eye but it's functionality is not to be undermined. No one ever said a steep driveway was easy to navigate or fun to walk up, so we created a retaining wall to hold back the sloped yard, creating street parking. From the parking pad, a soft curve in the retaining wall blends seamlessly into the grand staircase that leads you to the front door. The steps are drawn out and just shy of a typical step height, creating an easy climb to the top. The long curves allow room for planting beds to soften the line between the pavers and asphalt driveway. Hidden from plain view at street level is a grand paver landing at the base of the front door, a resting spot for one to take in the beautiful front porch and turn back to take in the view of the grand staircase they just conquered! A grand staircase is not complete without a grand landing.
