A Resort-Style Retreat at Home

NALP AWARD OF EXCELLENCE – GOLD 2025

Completed in 2022, Villa Marrone is a fully custom outdoor living space in Moorestown, NJ. The project transformed a wide-open lawn with little privacy into a multi-level, resort-style backyard retreat. Utilizing natural elevation changes, the design features three distinct tiers: a raised patio with a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, a sunken fire pit lounge, and a large, gunite pool with high-end features like a swim-up bar, sun-shelf, spa, floating steppingstones, and sheer descent waterfalls.

Custom materials and craftsmanship are showcased throughout the space, including IPE wood details, a waterfall-edge granite countertop, and modern pergolas with retractable shade canopies. A unique swim-up bar creates eye-level interaction between swimmers and guests, while the sunken fire pit area provides a warm, intimate space to gather.

The build process was technically complex, particularly the pool, which had to be constructed entirely out of the ground before the surrounding area was backfilled to raise the grade. Despite the engineering challenges, the result is a highly functional, visually stunning space that reflects both the client’s vision and the company’s commitment to thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship.
